In August we are highlighting our DVS Progressive Safe System (PSS) mandated for installation by fleet operators for HGVs over 12 tonnes in Greater London from October 28, ensuring legal travel and operation.
The enhanced DVS Progressive Safe System retains the core objectives of the current DVS while also introducing increased intelligence.
The primary aim of the system is to enhance driver visibility, particularly on the nearside of the vehicle, by eradicating blind spots.
VT Turnaware PDS is a blind spot camera system that uses sophisticated video AI analytics to detect Vulnerable Road Users (VRU’s) moving towards the vehicle and will warn the driver of their approach.
VT MOIS PDS is a blind spot camera system that uses sophisticated video AI analytics to detect Vulnerable Road Users (VRU’s) who may be in front of the vehicle when the system detects the vehicle is about to move off.
VT Turnalarm warns Vulnerable Road Users (VRU’s) of the vehicle’s intentions when conducting a turning manoeuvre.
There is a grace period that can be applied for but evidence will need to be provided showing you have installation works arranged to fit the PSS but that this is scheduled for after October 28.
The grace period is up to May 4, 2025 – an extension of the original three months.
